Ugh, last time I had to set this card up with a Proxmox box, it just plain didn't work. I don't know if the adapter is failing or if I have a bad cable or just don't know how to computer, but it was a major headache. I recently bought a Panda PAU09 and it has been solid as it just plugs and plays in Linux via Proxmox without any jerking around with drivers and compiling stuff. So at this point I'd say go that route, but here's a few bits of info that hopefully are still relevant to the AWUS036ACH.

Here's how to setup this card to get into monitor mode and start enumerating/attacking APs

Get into monitor mode

Run the "monitor" script from here to set your card in monitor mode

Scan all abg bands for specific wifi name

airodump-ng wlan0mon --essid "MEOW" --band abg
